Itamaraty and FUNAG conduct seminar on globalism

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ernesto Araújo, gave the opening lecture of the seminar on globalism conducted by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG) on 10 June, 2019.

The seminar promoted debate between members of the government and society on the concept and phenomenon of globalism and its implications for contemporary international relations. The subject has been discussed in other countries, such as the United States, and there is a public interest in bringing the discussion to Brazil for the understanding of the implications of the phenomenon to our current international relations. This interest was seen in the 400+ registrations for the event and the large number of questions to the lecturers.

Aside from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the event was attended by Congresswoman Christine Nogueira dos Reis Tonietto (Social Liberal Party – Rio de Janeiro); Special Advisor on Foreign Affairs to the President of the Republic, Filipe G. Martins; MRE Communication and Culture Secretary, Ambassador Márcia Donner Abreu; Director of the Institute for Research on International Relations (IPRI), Ambassador Maria Stela Pompeu Brasil Frota; President of FUNAG, Minister Roberto Goidanich; and lecturers: Ludmila Lins Grilo, Judge at the Minas Gerais Justice Court; Christopher Buskirk, editor of “American Greatness” magazine; Alexandre Costa, author of “Introdução à Nova Ordem Mundial” [Introduction to the New World Order] and “O Brasil e a Nova Ordem Mundial” [Brazil and the New World Order]; and Flávio Morgenstern, writer, political analyst and editor of the page “Senso incomum – pensando contra a corrente” [Uncommon sense – thinking against the current].
