FUNAG and Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU) release publications aiming to foster closer Brazil-Slovenia relations
On 16 December, the Ambassador of Slovenia, Alain Brian Bergant, visited FUNAG to inform of the conclusion of the editing process of the book “História do Brasil”, by Professor Boris Fausto in its Slovene version. The publication was translated into Slovene in response to FUNAG’s publishing of the book “A Terra e seu Entorno – Uma História da Eslovênia”, the Portuguese translation of the book “The Land Between: A History of Slovenia”, edited by Dr. Oto Luthar. This is a project of cooperation that has the goal of bringing different peoples together and stimulating awareness of diversity and factors of historical, political, and cultural convergence, since Brazil is home to a variety of ethnic groups and immigrants from all around the world, including descendants of Slavs.
Those publications took place in accordance to the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2012 by FUNAG and the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU).
